  • “ I had the yuzu shio ramen. Ramen is my comfort food whe not feeling 100%. The soft flavors of the soup hit my stomach the right away leaving all of us happier than when we first walked in. Fairly busy for a weekday but no where near busy like the weekends. With a little, we can't come on weekends as we are a slow eater so appreciate the calmness during the weekdays. ”

  • “ I’ve been here a few times and the food is so yummy, the atmosphere is amazing. I really appreciate how kind the staff are :) definitely worth it in my opinion, everyone’s very kind and the ramen is delicious ”

  • “ The broth was very flavourful and the servings were more than enough. We ordered the Tokyo Tonkatsu and Hokkaido Miso Ramen; for sharing we had the Bou Gyoza. Service was very quick and efficient and we were in and out in less than an hour with minimal waiting. Place is quite small and they tend to run out of soup when they are very busy so make sure to come early and plan ahead! :) ”

  • “ It’s my first return after like 5 years ago. Still the same deco and flavourful broth. Came a few times in the past few months and broth was sold out but this time it was still available. Definitely would be back again soon ”

  • “ I tried to go there 2 times but it's too crowded. So this time I go since they opened at 11 am and don't need to wait. People keep coming and full quite quickly. They come to get the order and the food is served in a decent time. I like a yuzu shio Ramen. It's light and fresh soup for me. The Tokyo Tonkotsu ramen is a bit salty if you don't like the intense one. They are plenty of free parking outside. No reservations and need to come after the full party member to get the table. ”

  • “ staff: friendly. service: greeted quickly - was not seated though until my full party arrived. Which wasn’t cool. I got there early to get a table given lunch rush. Many people went ahead of me. Luckily a table cleared when my other group members arrived. Once orders were taken - food came out at a decent time. establishment: small & cozy with only a few tables. Lots of parking outside. food: pleasantly surprised. I had tried ramen once before and was turned off. I tried this place and was pleasantly surprised with the flavour and texture. The Gyozas were nicely crisped. ”

  • “ Tokiwa Ramen — is still my Gold Standard for Broth Bliss. This place was my benchmark for ramen in the city for years. Not sure if it was the first on the scene, but it’s definitely one of the best — and they’ve earned their stripes the classic way: with a broth that simmers for hours and ingredients that are always top shelf. You can taste the care. Prices have held up reasonably well given the quality, though be ready for the à la carte add-ons: $3.50 for one tea (teabag steep) and $0.95 for a to-go container. Service is no-frills and a bit brisk these days — probably because it’s a small spot and they’re hustling to keep seats moving. When the soup runs out, it’s game over, so don’t dawdle. Pro tip: go early, eat happy, and slurp fast. Still, all things considered, Tokiwa Ramen remains a top-notch spot. When people ask me where to get real ramen, this is one place I point to. ”

  • “ Good quality and tasting ramen in Edmonton is something I didn't know existed the 4 years I was studying in university there. I don't know how new Tokiwa is but their ramen is definitely tasty and I believe they close after selling out their broth for the day. We did line up for a long time on a Friday during the day (I think we waited almost 40 minutes) but totally worth the wait, and definitely not the longest wait I've ever had to get seated at a restaurant. The ratio of toppings to noodles is quite good and their menu has many options of ramen to choose from, and they all taste quite different from each other. I tried a ramen that had yuzu in the broth (because the word yuzu just gets me every time) and impressively, you can taste the light and gentle fragrance of the yuzu in the broth! I was very pleased. ”
